Acadia series 2005-2013

Over the years, more than any other location on the East Coast, I have been returning to Acadia . Since I moved back here from California, it remind's me of the Sierras with the exposed granite mountains, though what Acadia has is more hills than mountains compared to the West. That these monumental forms rise out of the ocean makes them so much more impressive in the weather they create and how they scale from up close. They are also amazing to circumnavigate by kayak, with our own mini fjords. It is a wilderness very much on a New England scale.
