Japan Meditation series 2000

The first time I traveled with a digital camera and documented my travels by photography instead of painting. I was traveling on foot and by train so I had to keep it compact. Bringing a laptop along to work in photoshop was a new concept. In a very short time that has become the norm. Though this was to be the only trip that I had the time to do the collaging while traveling. I take a lot more photography equipment with me now, tripod for night shooting, various big lenses and heavy cameras, but it is worth the weight and bulk. The digital collaging uses scans of hand made papers that I got from stores that specialized in washi (traditional Japanese papers).
