High Plains series 2012
A late summer, and very hot and dry trip across the country along the Canadian border, turning up into the Rockies and following back roads deep into Canada. I was able to stay on preserve land and see grass lands and herds of Deer in a very natural state. This is different from park land in that no one is normally allowed in. It was easy to imagine this land with no roads and no ranches. The ranchers I stayed with were very generous and gave me access to open country with the Rockies right there bumping up against us. Later I put the kayak to use in some of the glacial lakes, outrageous!
